Hello {subtag:name},
Welcome to the 2023-2024 curling season with Cedar Rapids Curling! We can't wait for everything the next year will bring. We have a lot of updates, so please read through carefully. We'll see you on the ice soon!
NEW TIMES for fall league, which is filling fast
Our fall 10-week league, which starts Tuesday, Sept. 19 and runs to Dec. 12 (with two byes scheduled, off Nov 21st, and Dec. 19 held for a make-up date if needed), is more than half full.
Deadline to sign up for league is Friday, Sept. 8.
To accomodate the arena, we have pushed the start of league back 15 minutes. We will now start at 6:45 p.m. and end at 9:15 p.m. To ensure we are off the ice on time, we ask that whatever end you are in at 9 p.m. be your last end.
As always, this league is an open format, meaning your team can be all male, female, or any combination. You can sign up for leagues as a team of four or as an individual, in which case we will group you with others. Many of our members regularly sign up as individuals. It gives you the chance to play with new people each league!

We ask that you have completed an instructional league or have curled in the past before you sign up for our open leagues.
Free night of curling to start the new season
Sign up for teach the teacher/pick-up games
Speaking of teaching, our first learn-to-curl event of the season is right around the corner on Sept 12.

Join or renew your membership
The Cedar Rapids Curling year runs from September through August. We are asking everyone to register for 2023-24 membership through the website.
To play in leagues (other than instructional leagues), players must pay an annual membership fee, which covers insurance, USA Curling and Midwest Curling Association membership, use of club curling equipment, and general overhead.
In addition to league play, membership offers intraclub curling and social activities throughout the year. Members have opportunities to develop their curling skills and knowledge, socialize with our members and regional clubs through friendlies, and curl at fun social and competitive events around the country.

Join us for broomstacking
One aspect of curling that is a large part of the sport is broomstacking. For those of you who may be newer, broomstacking is simply enjoying the company of your opponents after the game, usually with a cold beverage (but not required).
There are a number of Cedar Rapids Curling members who go to Union Station on 16th Avenue (two minutes from the arena) after league every week for food and drink.
We'd love to have some new faces join us and be able to get to know everyone better!
Get to know your CRC board members
The Cedar Rapids Curling Board wants to be as accessible to its members as possible. Don't know who your board members are? Find short bios and photos of board members on the Cedar Rapids Curling website.
Have an idea or want to reach out to the board? You can now reach all the board members at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
Thank you for making CedarSpiel a success
If you weren't able to make it to ImOn Ice Arena for CedarSpiel, you missed out on a amazing time. Our CedarSpiel Planning Committee, Ice Crew, and volunteers truly outdid themselves! THANK YOU!
We have been overwhelmed by many wonderful comments about the hospitality, food, and ice conditions. Our visitors have posted about how wonderful CedarSpiel was within various national curling groups.
We're already excited about 2024 CedarSpiel!
